I should go to bed, but...

...I am really curious to hear the final results in New Hampshire. I can't remember ever being this interested in a presidential election, especially this early on in the proceedings. In honor of the occasion, I found two of the most fun political items in my limited archive of old photos...taken from a giant 'no more war in Iraq' rally in London, my then home, in 2003. I'm especially proud of the tea one. And with that, I will try to force myself to go to bed, knowing that the results will be waiting patiently for me when I awaken.

Yes, you can go to bed and the results will be the same, amazingly ;)

Did you ever go to a caucus? I'm guessing no because you were outside of the country most of the time. I'm wondering how it works. Do people vote for just one candidate or do they vote for one candidate for each party?
Instead of asking you, I could be searching that online but I'd rather ask ;)

I'm not quite in bed yet. I have voted in a presidential election but only the final one...California has primaries, but there, you can only vote in the primary for one's own party...I was non-affiliated, so I couldn't vote then. If I had been registered for a party, then I could have chosen one person for that party. In some states, like I think in New Hampshire, independents can also vote in a primary, but I would imagine that they can only vote in one primary, so they'd have to decide which party they'd like their vote to influence. Caucuses sound to me like just voting by standing in a group rather than going to a voting booth and pulling a lever, but I don't have any direct experience with that.

Yes, from what I've seen on tv, they all sit there and count themselves and vote with their hands up. hehe it's funny.

Everyone was very enthusiastic about Obama winning the first primary election but it really means nothing. In spite of that victory, when the real election comes they might all go and vote republican anyway!
