My last meal

Not really, but I get to take a glucose test tomorrow morning, and am not to eat or drink anything, not even water, after, oh, less than half an hour from now. It's not so much fasting; I'll be able to eat after the test is over, in about 12 hours. So, why do I feel that I must find something really special to eat as I will never eat again? It's not really my last meal, just my last for today.

But as I feel that way, I suppose I should find something. I'm not really feeling very hungry, and will most likely end up with some fruit and lots of water. If it were really my last meal, I'd probably go for something more elaborate, multi-course, simple yet decadent, maybe something Szechuan? What about you?

I have no idea what Szechuan is, but okay! I'd probably have something with cheese, pizza, or some kind of pie, or lasagne.

Hope your test goes well. I really don't like not being able to eat as I get hypoglicemic easily. Last time I had to draw blood (well, probably the last 2 or 3 times) I was really close to faiting. (I hope you'll only read this after you're done :)

Mmmm, Szechuan! Good choice. I think I'd go with a tuna melt and a milkshake. Because I'm 12.

Hope the fasting goes well!

Szechuan (or Sichuan) is the best kind of spicy flavorful Chinese food, from Sichuan province, in the Southwest. Otherwise, all my comfort food includes shocking amounts of cheese.

And I went to bed shortly after your reminder. I had to stay up for the last big question, at which point there was no reason to stay up longer.

Phish, I can see that. For me, Szechuan fits your criteria...it's a special part of the world.

Roro, I'm not sure about the tuna melt, but a grilled cheese sandwich and malted milkshake would work for me, too! And the fasting was o.k. It was from 10pm until 8am, most of which I'd normally be asleep anyway, so it could have been much, much worse. I can't really recommend the glucose drink I had to take for the exam though. Yick!

I'd be the boring one, so I'd go for sashimi. Sorry, I'm most ordinary city chick XD

I would totally go for sashimi...interestingly, I thought of that first, but didn't put it because I can't have it while pregnant. I have made it clear that after the birth, during my day or two in the hospital, the first person to visit must come bearing take-out Japanese food!

Ooh, I thought, you were asking for your last last meal. As in "You're going do die in an hour, do you have a last wish for a meal" last meal. That would be sashimi for me. I remember you explained, why sushi/sashimi and the likes are not good food items for you right now :o)

Nope, that's exactly what I meant. My last, last meal. So, it's an interesting psychological thing that I didn't choose sashimi, even though it would have been my first choice, but let the fact that I'm pregnant come into play even in a hypothetical situation!
