I vaguely recall, a number of posts ago, claiming that I would not become a mommy blogger. Now, 25 or so posts tagged with 'babystuff' later, I admit it. I'm obsessed. More than obsessed. So, when given the challenge to not speak about, well, babystuff, for a whole multi-course meal (Thor's birthday dinner...I took him out for Australian), I wasn't sure it could be done.
But, I did it. It wasn't easy, whenever it was my turn to speak, I felt the urge to bring up something kiddie-related. Not that I had anything particularly kiddie-related to say, mind you. But I resisted. We talked about political and social issues, movies, music, travel, just like real people do. I was quite impressed with myself.
And then I came home and immediately logged onto a pregnancy forum, like an asthmatic in need of an inhaler. I'm much better now, thank you.

Kim, you fulfill my expectations of a pregnant woman. :) I'm thinking of you when I see any baby related stuff. I'm curious to see your and Thor's little one! Anne
lol well done!
I think that's normal when you're expecting. And when they're 1 year old and taking their first step. And when they go to school. And when they go to University. Face it, you'll always be a Mum from now on, no escaping that ;)
(I don't want to scare you but you probably noticed this before anyway)
What's odd is: the Australian? I didn't know such a thing existed. It's logical that it has the same right to exist as the Chinese but ...still strange.
Annemarie, thank you! I'm not sure what I would expect from myself as a pregnant woman, but I can't deny that I am, in fact, pregnant. And I look forward to seeing what the little one looks like, too. Are you still planning a visit here in May?
Ms. Mood, I know, my life has already changed forever. I just would like to be able to keep it from totally taking over my whole on-line life. And the Australian is pretty good, sort of gimmicky (kangaroo steaks, desserts made with special Australian berries, that kind of thing), but really really tasty.
My God, I was going to ask: what do they eat? kangaroo? But I was joking!! I can't believe they eat them :(
Kangaroo is actually quite good, for meat. I see it on occasion in supermarkets here.
