Afternoon off

I'm sort of on strike. Since mid-afternoon, in bed, enjoying the warmth and irregular newborn breathing of the pixie-faced, diaper-clad baby lying on my stomach. My man-servant on call, willing and able to ensure my comfort. I plan to stay here, reading, internetting, but mainly just relaxing, for as long as possible.

What about you? What have you been up to?

Wonderful!

When I think of babies, I think of lying them next to me in bed and staring for hours :) Having a man servant bringing me things makes the scenery just perfect!

I'm working on my Venus in Libra article and I've come across Elvis Costello lyrics. Help me! It's 20 albums or so...I can't read all that. :(

Good for you! Sounds verrry nice :-)

I’ve not much to say for myself… Been consumed with hunting more human gods and shirking mundane work duties. Guess it’s time for another come-to-Jesus talk with myself about how blogging is NOT what pays the bills here! >:-(

relentless, unquenchable quest for more slack, occasionally plotting gruesome demises for people (that get forgotten about shortly after, as seeking gruesome demises detracts takes time away from slacking off), assorting plotting and scheming for a big holiday my people celebrate in July, reading, napping.

Lying next to a baby and staring is good, but cuddling is even better. And, Elvis Costello...that's a tough one, also because I'd imagine it'd be hard to figure out which songs are about love, and which aren't!

Miss A., I know what you mean about shirking the mundane for the other stuff. And what do you mean, blogging is not what pays the bills? ;-)

Dok, definitely gruesome demises take a log of planning. And how would you define slack? I can't tell how much is just not acting, and how much can be acting towards goals which only you have set for yourself.

the Slack that can be defined is not the true Slack. if you need some sort of dictionarification for the sake of clarification during your moments of maternal meditation, I would suggest the following:

Slack is the opposite of tension. Whether that opposition to the fretful disposition is found in activity or inactivity or some blend of both is up to the individual.

Thank you...that definition is very workable. Actually, it sounds remarkably Zen somehow....
