Now, I understand it all

On a visceral level, I mean. The tiredness. The total inability to get anything done, even when the baby is asleep. The exhaustion. The feeling that everything in life has disappeared, but hasn't yet been replaced by anything. And have I mentioned the lack of sleep? I have been told that it's all worth it (and I know that this is true, I feel it), and that it won't go on this way forever, but at the moment, it is a wee bit overwhelming.

My big plan is to make a list of things that I really need to keep doing. Blogging will quite likely be on that list. But first, I think I'll go and take a nap.

awww ((((hug))))

Overwhelming is the word. I can't even imagine the complete turnaround it must be like.

Those things you've mentioned are actually the ones that discourage me from having a baby. I would probably get depressed and freaked out. I can't understand how single moms do that.

Chloe, I am trying to take as many naps as I can...and it's getting a bit better. We'll see how it goes in a week when Thor goes back to work, as he's now taking the late night shifts.

Ms. Mood, thank you. Hugs are always appreciated. I think it'll all settle out in time...but not necessarily a short time! :-o

Writer, I can understand that. I spend a long time debating whether I really wanted kids, just because of those reasons. And I can't imagine doing it as a single person. I only hope that single parents have relatives and friends to help them out.

Babies, like larger humanoids, do have an alcohol input port if you need to sedate them. Chloroform is generally frowned upon, but a little coconut rum or Bailey's Irish Cream in the milk should do the trick, so the kid will be preoccupied with napping and you can do similar, or do whatever else you want.

My mother's family typically used wine, which has a lower alcohol content, but i don't see the wine tasting all that good in the milk.

Hmmm...I'll stick with better time management, combined with enjoying my daughter's company when she's awake. But thank you for the advice anyway.
